PWDCA Pin Awards Program

The PWDCA and the Awards Committee are excited to offer an award program for competitive PWDCA Portuguese Water Dog owners.

The program will reward PWDCA members who put working and breed titles on their dogs.  The award will come in the form of a colorful PWD specially designed lapel pin.  It will be given for the first title a dog earns in 7 different performance events:
Breed, Obedience, Agility, Water, Service, Tracking, and Rally

As of February 1st of 2002 these pins are sent Free to owners for each dog earning titles starting on that date.  We have records of the AKC titles so they will be mailed automatically.  Titles earned from other registries need to have verification and must be sent to the Awards Committee. (See below)

Eligibility:

  • Owners must be a member of the PWDCA.
  • The dog must have earned a title and have proof from the registry.
    Accepted Registries:

FAQs

How many pins are you allowed?
If you have more than one title in a specific area on one dog, you will receive a single pin for only the first title in that area.  Example: a dog with two CD's or a CD and a CDX will be entitled to one pin in Obedience.

Any one PWD is entitled to a maximum of 7 pins (one for Breed, Obedience, Agility, Tracking, Water, Rally, and Service).

If you have multiple titled dogs you are entitled to multiple pins.  For example if you have 3 different dogs with Championships you can purchase 3 Breed pins.

If you co-own, who gets the pin?

For those co-owning with someone who actually put the title on the dog but is not a PWDCA member the pin will be sent to the first PWDCA member listed on the dogs name.  If you request the pin to go directly to the handler please notify the awards committee pin person listed below with the proper address.

Do you have to send verification for dogs who have their ROMs?

Those dogs who have their ROMs still need to provide verification but a listing of titles will be adequate.
