The PWDCA often has a variety of volunteer positions available to its membership.  If interested, please complete a PWDCA Committee Volunteer Form and send it in.

The PWDCA is looking for volunteers for the following positions/events/committees:

Bookkeeper:

The job of bookkeeper is open for any interested members. Applicants should submit a statement of their qualifications to the treasurer of PWDCA by Jan. 29, 2012.

The job entails the following:
  1. Pay all PWDCA bills in a timely manner and with full and adequate documentation.
  2. Receive and deposit checks. Manage PWDCA bank accounts. Work closely with the membership Coordinator at the time of membership renewals, and manage the depositing and transfer of credit card charges.
  3. Keep a complete and accurate accounting of every financial detail of the PWDCA in a manner consistent with professional bookkeeping/accounting practice. Should be proficient with Quickbooks PRO as this is the accounting software used. Good working knowledge of Excel is also necessary.
  4. Create monthly financial statements and deliver them to the PWDCA treasurer prior to each board meeting. These need to be done within 10 days of the end of each month.
  5. Provide the necessary reports to the PWDCA's accountant for tax preparation. Should be familiar with Non-Profit tax returns in order to collaborate with the Tax Accountant. Review Tax Forms.
  6. Issue Yearly Financial Reports at mid September (through the end of August), and by mid January (through the end of December).

Rescue President:

Job description for Rescue President as defined in the Rescue Bylaws, indicates this person shall have general control and management of the business affairs of PWDCA Rescue. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Rescue Board of Directors. The person in this position works with the Rescue Coordinator/Vice-President who serves as the primary contact for any dog entering into Rescue. These two people are responsible for approving expenditures related to dogs in the rescue program and making the initial determination of whether a dog is acceptable for placement and maintain records of approved homes and records on dogs taken into the program and placed.

Between these two positions roughly 60-120 contacts per month are fielded, this is primarily inquiries for those looking to adopt a rescued dog, to place/turnover their dogs, and to follow-up leads on potential PWDs in shelters. Specialty

Volunteers are needed for the specialty! You can name your day and time and the event/area you want work in. What better way to have fun and meet other PWD lovers at the same time. It’s easy, just download the volunteer form on the PWDCA specialty website and fax it to Toni at 843-768-4482 or scan and e-mail to tonimchugh@msn.com or mail to Toni McHugh at the address on the bottom of the form. Those volunteering will not only have fun, but receive a National Specialty Koozie, that only volunteers will have!

Allergy/Hairloss/Dermatology committee:

Please contact chair Ginnie Santoli at ginsan@verizon.net for more information. Applicants should have interest and experience with Allergy, Hairloss, or Dermatological Issues affecting the PWD. (1 volunteer needed)

Junior Affiliate committee:

Please contact chair Cindy O’Connor, DVM DACT at coconnor44@yahoo.com for more information. Applicants do not need any specific skills. Must be interested in developing opportunities to foster the Junior membership’s interest in the PWD and the multitude of activities they can participate in with their dog. (1-2 volunteers needed)

Miller Scholarship committee:

Please contact chair Kris Cofiell at cnsandpwd@aol.com for more information. Applicants do not need specific skills. Duties will include evaluation of applications, program promotion, and fundraising efforts. (1-2 volunteers needed)

New Committee! Volunteer Pool/Committee Coordination:

Please contact chair Kris Cofiell at cnsandpwd@aol.com for more information. Applicant must possess good organizational skills and basic computer proficiency. (2 - 3 volunteers needed)
